Paying it forward
Giving back to the Community
Throughout my challenges I have also found the support of many amazing people that have crossed my path and have helped me through mentoring, encouraging words, their trust or personal help of some sort, looking back there were various instances in life where today I wouldn't know where I would be if it hadn't been for the helping hand and the support they provided me at one time or another.
You see life presents itself to you and the outcome is truly determined by the actions of the decisions you have make, unfortunately there are times when life comes and takes the rug from beneath your feet without warning or any sort of notification, regardless of your age, your gender, your nationality or religion.
The outcome of each of our actions is really what we sometimes we don't think through. Whether is in benefit of your own family or friends, or strangers who you may never see again, volunteering is an important part of who I am, paying it forward is truly fulfilling based on personal experiences and what I have witness through my life, I do know that sometimes all you need or all you got is a helping hand, a listening ear or a voice on the other side of the phone telling it will be okay, that will help you go through whatever it is that is troubling your life at the time and while everything is temporary, while you are going to hardships time just seems to travel so very slow and seen the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes is hard, as you are very likely hitting bottom rock without considering making the slight turn that would help you see the light.
I am a volunteer and supporter of the American Cancer Society since 2008 and remain thru this date. I started attending and supporting their events following the very first exposure I had in one of their events, back then the idea of people going thru this was unimaginable, so I started supporting and became a volunteer as part of their study CPS3 on 2010. Following the support I was provided with during my own cancer journey, during 2013 giving back and becoming a volunteer for the ACS has been among one of my priorities every year since.
I served as Chair for the Luminaria Ceremony, leading this ceremony of remembrance and hope, honoring survivors, caregivers, their families and those who have lost the battle to cancer for Relay For Life for three consecutive years in 2014, 2015 and 2016 in the city of Yucaipa. I was also a guest Speaker at CalPoly on an event organized by Relay for Life in 2015.
In 2015 I was part of the Committee for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Riverside CA, where I contributed to revamping their Balloon Ceremony to "Balloons of Hope Ceremony."
In 2014 and 2015 I was part of the Committee for Women Empowering Women with the idea of helping and guiding women from all cultures with the purpose of bringing women together to motivate, inspire and help one another. I was part of the volunteer organizers of this event, a host and was also a speaker.
Since 2016 I am an ongoing volunteer and part of the Community Children's Community Action Team a non-profit organizations in benefit of Loma Linda Community Hospital, The Ronald McDonald House of the Inland Empire, Camp Pendleton in Del Mar, and the local community.
